ERIE, Pa. (AP) — An Erie man has pleaded guilty to robbing five women at gunpoint, including two he forced to undress.
Twenty-year-old Austin Bemis on Tuesday pleaded guilty to five robbery counts and one attempted robbery count. He faces up to 120 years in prison when he’s sentenced May 19.
Five women were robbed in four incidents between May 25 and Aug. 8.
Bemis allegedly approached the women on dark streets between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., taking a cell phone, cigarettes, and a necklace among other items. He also snapped pictures of one of the women he forced to undress.
Bemis was caught shortly after the last robbery on Aug. 8 when the victim fought back and called 911 from a cell phone.
Police found Bemis nearby carrying a toy gun, digital camera, latex glove and a bandanna.

Austin Bemis was truly enhancing the profile of the subculture in Erie . Now that he is in the slammer will he be demanding that the inmates undress for him as he robs them of their cigarettes ?
What a 20 year old useless idiot. Do something productive in life. geez.
The inspiration he gets from the boys in jail will be something he wasn't planning on. You will be able to hear him squeal all the way to the state line.
A done deal,..
To do something like that even once is terrible. However, to do it not once, twice or three times but 5 times is beyond detestable.
For acting in such a cruel, calculated and non abated manner of heinously reveling with no remorse.
Austin Bemis should be sentenced to a century of imprisonment for the indefensible horror he knowingly, willfully and deliberately committed on those women and the community.
His agenda is indefensible, his manner unsavory, his targets calculated, his intent reprehensible, his repetitiveness unspeakable and his presence non acceptable for anybody.
He willfully and intentionally violated those women in a tormenting fashion on numerous occasions and classifies as a serial stalker.
There's no line short of murder he didn't cross and therefore by his actions proves he's not fit to ever circulate in any manner of roaming at large in a free society.
He's shown he's a non provoked diabolical hazard and criminally driven nuisance. Incensed as such a serial terror he should never leave the confines of incarceration in his mortal life.
Which is life sustaining gratuitous because had any of those ladies had a son, husband, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, boyfriend or even a favoring neighbor like me and had tracked him down.
He and his family and buddies would realize that for him to receive the sentencing of life imprisonment. Is unquestionably the far lesser and of what he was campaigning to face.
There's civility and then there's depravity. For which by his choice he clearly choose to be a predator.
One of such a manner and record of disposition who's freedom. Would only serve to accost others while abating an otherwise civil, wholesome and respecting individual to do something finite to him.
May the Judge sensibly understand that and opt for the more containable and responsible manner of averting all out mayhem.
