YOUNGSTOWN — A widow has sued an East Auburndale Avenue man she said was the second of two motorists to strike her husband, who died of injuries he suffered while attempting to cross South Avenue near Ravenwood Avenue on March 17, 2009.
Melissa Larsen, of Gladstone Street, Campbell, widow of Paul Larsen, sued Keith E. Abron, for more than $25,000 in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
The suit says Abron negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout for her husband as he lay injured in the roadway and dragged him about 150 feet.
The first motorist to hit Larsen fled the scene of the 9 p.m. accident, police said. Abron could not be reached for comment. The lawsuit, which demands a jury trial, is assigned to Judge Lou A. D’Apolito.

Of course it was dark ... the guy obviously didn't see him. He stopped after hitting him as they say you should ... AND he gets sued. So you wonder why people don't like to stick around ???
@MFC997.. Just because its dark doesn't mean you aren't responsible for your surroundings. The man has headlights, you see whats on the road well before you approach the object, you're 100% responsible. The man is laying there, holding on to life, and another reckless driver runs him over. Mistakes happen, but who knows, that man could have survived if it weren't for the second blow? I personally have driven around this country several times, to NYC, NJ, Myrtle Beach, Dallas, TX, Nashville, TN, etc. And I believe Ohio has the most careless, worst, incompetent drivers to hit this country.
Spoken like a true personal injury attorney ... so it's impossible to miss a dark figure lying on blacktop at night ?? 100% responsible ?? Was this guy even in a crosswalk ?? Was the driver under the influence ?? Please. If the guy took off or was drunk that's one thing but if it's a nightime mishap that is totally different. I see no charges were filed against the driver. I guess when your city is run by trial attorneys this should be expected. Sorta explains why the city is as screwed up as it is. But that's OK keep voting the Democratic shysters in they'll take proper care of you I am sure.
So I take it that the first to hit Paul Larsen was never caught ? Now Keith E. Abron will be obligated to pay if he loses what should have been the obligation of the first driver to impact Paul Larsen .
Forget it Stan .. It's Youngstown .. Does anything else even need to be said ?

"And I believe Ohio has the most careless, worst, incompetent drivers to hit this country."
You haven't driven in (Tampa) Florida or (Los Angeles) California have you?
Another "Lets sue " individual. It's getting to be the "in" thing now.

I have driven in Los Angeles and the story is much different than it is here. In LA there's a logistical problem.. Too much traffic, not enough road. These people that deal with this daily are probably the best drivers on the road. They're defensive and pay a lot more attention to the road. I have not, however, driven in Tampa Florida. Ohio has a few excuses, roads looking horrendous compared to neighboring states (PA for example), roads not getting plowed properly, pot holes, etc. Other than that, in my opinion, drivers in Ohio are terrible (Yes I do live in Ohio).

MFC-your questions are just what the law suit will answer. Do you really think you would not sue if it was your spouse killed? Geeze youre a nitwit.
